I haven’t managed to get away as much as I’d have liked in the past six months but I’ve been to a few gorgeous places nonetheless. My first trip of 2015 was a family holiday to the Maldives, my third visit and hopefully not my last. This is a big statement BUT…the Maldives is probably one of my favourite places on Earth.
I love everything about it: the reefs, the people, the crystal clear water, the white sand and the fact that there’s really not much to do there. We stayed at the most beautiful resort called Komandoo Island Resort in huts on the beach with outdoor bathrooms and jacuzzis. I spent most mornings snorkelling the reef and lounging around in the afternoons, reading as many books as possible. I’m a big fan of diving and we considered doing a dive here but there’s really no need when the house reef is such rich with marine life (lucky us!).
I have to talk about the food here because it was out of this World amazing and I think I probably put on an insane amount of weight. It takes a lot to get me out of bed early enough to not miss breakfast but I didn’t miss a single breakfast here. The have everything the heart desires: smoothies, porridge, pastries freshly made, any type of eggs made to order and my favourite, pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Lunch and dinner were equally as delicious, and the best thing about the island? No one wears shoes anywhere. The dining room is open-air with sand floors, the ultimate chill out destination!

The second holiday of the year was thanks to one of my friends Kate. For perhaps the best birthday celebration ever we, and eight of our other friends, spent a week sailing around Croatia on The Yacht Week. I don’t quite know where to start with this one and feel a whole separate post is needed to tell you about it all. For now, watch their teaser video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKYnIeCv1CM) to get an idea of what the week involves whilst I cry with withdrawal symptoms. Read the full post here.
And last but not least I took a brief trip over to the South of France to visit my brother! He’s been working in the Med since the start of Summer and I’d been itching to go and check out his workplace (a 138m super yacht). He booked me surprise plane tickets on the Monday and I touched down in Marseilles on the Friday. Full post coming soon!
