There’s something about the chalky white and blue houses and the clear green water that makes me love Greece.
We stayed on Skala beach which was perfect for a week of relaxation and exploring the island.
The water is crystal clear and the beach is fairly quiet if you stick to the end away from the resorts and sun loungers.
We took a boat trip up to the North of the island to Fiskardo. It’s a popular stop for yachts and as such, prices are considerably higher than other villages. Don’t let this put you off though. It’s very pretty and worth a visit if you’re nearby.
On the way back, we stopped at Melissani Cave.
And some other little bays.
I’m not a fan of organised trips because I like to explore places without lots of other tourists. Unfortunately, there isn’t really another way to visit Fiskardo from Skala apart from with a trip because of how far away they are from each other.
I’d have liked to have had more time in each place but the trip was still enjoyable and a great way to see the island.
Where’s your favourite place in Greece? Have you ever been to Kefalonia?
We stayed at Tesoro Blu Hotel which was around £700 pp half board for a week.
